Raised in and around Kilgore, Texas, John-Daniel accepted Jesus as his Savior at the age of eight under the preaching of Dr. Laney Johnson at Mobberly Baptist Church. It was at Mobberly where he surrendered to vocational ministry.
​
His 10 years of ministry and pastoral experiences include serving as the Pastor of Caney Creek Baptist Church in Kilgore, Texas, and Minister of Groups at New Beginnings Baptist Church for their Longview Campus.
He and his wife, Brittany Cutler, are in their 19th year of marriage and counting, and are blessed with three sweet children, who attend White Oak ISD.
For several years now, Marcus has had a developing interest in being involved musically at church.

He’s grateful for the privilege to minister in this way, and for the learning experience it has been.
​
Marcus desire for being involved in music ministry of the church is that God would be glorified, praised, and that the hearts of the congregation would be encouraged and turned towards the Lord through congregational singing and worship.
That they would be edified, and come to know God better through the corporate singing of God's truth.
​
He believes the local church is essential for discipleship of believers, local ministry outreach, and missionary endeavors worldwide.

Marcus is blessed to be newly married to his wife Olivia, who is also involved musically in the church.
Cynthia Ferguson has been the Children's Ministry Director at Emmanuel Baptist Church for almost 15 years. She loves to tell the children about the Lord and believes that every one of them is worth her time. She grew up in the East Texas area and is married to H.D, Ferguson. Together they love to serve the Lord in our local body. She was saved during VBS as a child. Her favorite time of year is Summer because she gets to take the children to camp.

Cynthia recently moved to serving as our Administrative Assistant in the office.
